Wonder why Saab would name its latest creation a fashionista car but this concept car

Posted by Ahmad Faraz on Sunday, May 24, 2009, In : Cars

Latest in fashion provided Saab or its parent company General Motors will still be in the car manufacturing business or even in business at all. The Saab Fashionista, Green 2+2 Sport Coupe is actually the result of the fertile mind of Creapole-ESDI fourth year design student Mayeul Walser.

True to its name it has in fact been inspired by Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld’s fashion design. And talking of car fashion under this shapely bodywork is a range-extended electric powertrain.

The powerful V6 h...

Posted by Ahmad Faraz on Sunday, May 24, 2009, In : Cars

Such a backdrop has a tendency to give rise to the though that this Coupe is indestructible even by a nuclear disaster but that’s far from the truth although this version is a great improvement over its predecessor.

This coupe is the precursor of the E-family that will soon be unveiled and which will include a station wagon. The 2010 Mercedes-Benz E550 Coupe will be powered by a 1.5-Liter V6 engine producing 268 horsepower and a torque of 258 pound-feet. There is also a version powered by a ...

The Veritas RS III is powered by a 6.0-Liter V12 engine sourced from BMW producing 670 horsepower and a torque of 760Nm pound-feet. The design is however nothing sort of revolutionary because they bring back memories of the original Veritas c...

Dodge is known for manufacturing heavy duty cars

Posted by Ahmad Faraz on Sunday, May 24, 2009, In : Dodge Challenger

Dodge Ram HD is a good example. Unlike the present model which has a 6.1-Liter engine producing 425 horsepower, this heavyweight will be powered by a 6.4-Liter Hemi V8 engine producing 450 to 500 horsepower. The next-generation Dodge Ram HD is expected to be powered by this engine of choice.

Jim Press, Chrysler co-president may have denied the future of Hemi as a chosen powertrain but he seems to be eating his words with the planned usage of the Hemi V8 for the 2011 Dodge Ram HD. This new hea...

Posted by Ahmad Faraz on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, In : Pontiac

General Motors' acting CEO Fritz Henderson has said the Wilmington, DE plant that currently produces the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky could be sold if a buyer was interested in producing the two roadsters. "If someone were to approach [us] with a proposal that made good sense for our people, we'd be open to it," Henderson told Autoweek. The move would ape Chrysler's plan for the Dodge Viper's production facilities, allowing another automaker to take control and continue building the niche ...

Latest findings says cars more affordable now than they have been since study began in 1979

Posted by Ahmad Faraz on Monday, May 11, 2009, In : Cars

While tanking auto sales are bad for automakers, the customers buying cars and trucks are paying less for them than any time in the past 30 years. Comerica Bank's Auto Affordability Index shows that a vehicle with a $26,000 MSRP takes the average family 21.5 weeks of median income to buy. That's 1.3 weeks less than in December of 2008, as incentives have grown by an average of $1,700 per vehicle purchase in only five months. Lower interest rates and deep discounts are being assisted by looser...

2009 Mercury Mariner Hybrid To Make More Money For Ford

Posted by Ahmad Faraz on Sunday, May 3, 2009, In : Cars

The increasing price of fuel has made the Hybrid vehicle a rage making the battery-assisted Ford Escape a hit in 2004 since it was the first car company to offer a hybrid utility vehicle. At a not-so-cheap $30,000 per vehicle it is amazing that one in every eight Escape vehicle sold is a hybrid. With the entry of the 2009 Mercury Mariner Hybrid Ford now has two options for the hybrid-crazy car market and frankly, more options to make more money.

The 2009 Mercury Mariner Hybrid has a price tag ...

Tesla Roadster Is Big-Bottom Car

Posted by Ahmad Faraz on Sunday, May 3, 2009, In : Tesla

The Tesla Roadster has a big butt and a smaller head but there’s no offense meant there. This Roadster is not cheap and it does not pretend to be considering its six-digit price tag geared towards moneyed and can-afford car buyers. The same big butt however continues to attract onlookers, both those who can afford and those who are simply curious about the Roadster’s secrets.

The Tesla Roadster is a bigger and more expensive mobile phone but with the same charging time of almost three hour...

Ford sells more cars in April than Toyota

Posted by Ahmad Faraz on Saturday, May 2, 2009, In : Cars

What's this? Somehow, the natural order of things in the automotive world has been upset to the point that Ford (129,898 total units) has outsold Toyota (126,540 total units) in the United States in the month of April. For those keeping track of such things, this is the first time in over a year that the Blue Oval (consisting of Ford, Lincoln and Mercury, but not including Volvo) has moved more machines than the mighty Toyota.

Normally, posting a 31% decline in sales compared to the same month...

Ford's image gets a boost by nixing federal aid

In what has to be one of the least surprising developments related to the auto industry, a newly-released survey finds that Americans' favorable view of Ford Motor Company has increased substantially since it became the sole member of the Detroit Three to abstain from taking federal funds.

Before the Capitol Hill Bailout Bonanza got going in earnest late last year, just 41% of Americans held the Blue Oval in a positive light. Now, after billions of taxpayer dollars have been spent keeping now-...
